Revenge by Jessica Gadziala
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Don’t you just love it when you stumble upon a really great book?!? I discovered Jessica Gadziala by pure chance. She happens to follow similar authors that I do on Instagram so her account was “recommended”. So what did I do? Started following her on Instagram and added this book to my “Want to Read” list, of course!
If you are not a fan of MC romances then I’d suggest you turn away now! This book is as beautiful as it is gritty. If you follow my reviews you’ll know I have a love affair with biker boys…the more dangerous, the better! Therefore it should come to no surprise to you that I enjoyed every moment of this story. Danger, revenge, drugs, strippers, tattoos, and brotherhood… perfection!
We first meet Thayer (absolutely perfect MC name BTW) as he’s released from prison after 3 long years. Those years he’s spent bulking up and plotting revenge on his backstabbing MC brothers. Thayer is the perfect alpha with his calculating intensity, strength, intelligence, unique code of morals, leadership skills, and sexual prowess. Thayer accepts the darkness inside of him without shame or apology. He’s ruthless in defending his legacy and family. My reaction to Thayer – instant lust and many, many swoons throughout the story.
Now let me introduce you to Sera. She’s not your typical damsel in distress. She’s lived a hard-knock life and shouldered more responsibility than most people experience in a lifetime. Sera is gorgeous and tattooed. She wears clothes for comfort, not style. Sera is also a goddess at managing meager budgets, caring for her sister, and taking no crap from her male coworkers. She’s rough and honest…the perfect bada$$. If anyone deserved a happily ever after it’s Sera.
Jessica Gadziala did a fantastic job of not only developing intriguing characters but a plot that was addicting. As a reader I was twisted up in the anguish that Sera experiences as she watches her sister deteriorate. I was on the edge of my seat worrying and wondering how Thayer would retake his property and defeat those that wronged him. I loved the all consuming hatred and revenge experienced by both Sera and Thayer. This book sang all the loveliest notes to my dark soul.
Now the countdown for book 2 starts NOW!

BOOK REVIEW- KINGS OF MAYHEM BY PENNY DEE
Kings of Mayhem by Penny Dee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Fan-fucking-tasting! This was a good ‘ole fashion MC romance with all the debauchery and angst you could hope for. Cade was a true blue, bad boy with a heart of gold and wrapped in a gorgeous tattooed body. Indy was a strong, intelligent MC Princess who just so happens to be a medical professional. She’s been gutted by love in the past and has guarded her heart well over the past 12 years. What happens after her father passes away challenged her in so many aspects of her life. Loved the characters, loved the steamy scenes, and loooooooved the angsty love/lust… borderline obsession. Fantastic!

BOOK REVIEW- Torn by Carian Cole
Torn by Carian Cole
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
While reading this book I ping-ponged between wanting to walk away and soaking up every juicy detail. My biggest problem was Kenzi’s character which I found lacking. When we first meet Kenzi she’s 17 and quiet lackluster in personal interests/hobbies, future goals, and socializing. She just comes across as a follower without any clear ambitions or motivations driving her life. Sure she follows along to help Toren with the dog rescue but he and his family are the driving force behind that operation. She’s not passionate about music like her parents, academic, athletic, etc. Therefore it was hard for me to care what happened in the story when I didn’t feel any need to root for. Rich kid living with her rockstar dad, no job – just hobbies to while away her existence.
Toren (in my humble opinion) carried this book. In stark contrast to Kenzi’s lack of personality & interests Toren made up for it in spades! Former rocker, motorcycle mechanic and garage owner, animal rescuer, motorcycle club member, die-hard romantic… perhaps a bit too much going on but I can’t complain after the utter void that was Kenzi.
There are more books in the series and I haven’t decided yet whether to keep reading them. The writing was good and the plot moved among at an appropriate pace.
BOOK REVIEW- Truly, Madly, Whiskey by Melissa Foster

I’ve waited over a month to make this officially a DNF. Truly disappointed (and quite frankly shocked) because of the magnificence that was Tru Blue. Listen up ladies- if you’re looking for an sexy, ovary-exploding book boyfriend Truman is your guy! That book was all kinds of awesome. In that story I not only fell in love with Truman’s character but Bear as well. So imagine my excitement when I started reading this story! A full-length book dedicated to Bear and his sexiness!!! YES, PLEASE!
Sadly I just didn’t (and couldn’t) fall in love with this story. Crystal was obnoxious and rude. Bear seemed almost muted compared to his strong debut in the previous story. I tried…trust me I really, really tried to finish this book. DNF

Anyone that follows my reviews knows that I have a certain fondness for MC book series. After reading the book description I was eager to dive into Saxon and Jenny’s story. Now that I’ve finished the series I’m a tad wishy-washy in my rating. On one hand the steamy scenes were super.foxing.hot. (Warning- there’s a semi ménage scene in the second book. How can there be a “semi” manage scene you ask? Trust me, it works but I wanted to mention that in case some readers were put off by that type of thing.) and now for the downside of the book. The descriptions and verbiage used for some of the scenes seemed corny. Like the author was using too clever of analogies to set the stage for the reader. I assume most of her reading audience is over 18. “…Saxon tasting me, his tongue sweeping up between the lips of my cunt in long, broad strokes, as if my pussy is melting ice cream and he refuses to waste a single creamy drop.” Ummmmm, that sentence made me cringe. There were a few other times the author gave into her flowery overly-verbose descriptions for their intimacy. Jenny was the daughter of a MC president. She would be used to the culture and perhaps describe the sex scenes without using frozen dairy products as reference.
Last thoughts- I would have enjoyed a bit more angst. For two people who “could never be together” it actually went pretty smoothly for them. Maybe a few misunderstandings, jealous exs, conniving females, etc would have spiced up the story for me. All-in-all a solid 4 star rating.
BOOK REVIEW- Reaper’s Property by Joanna Wylde

Wowzers. Probably not the best intro for such a gritty biker novel but it’s my first reaction. Bang bang- welcome to the world of motorcycle gangs…correction motorcycle club. 😉
Horse is a member of the Reapers Motorcycle Club- a world that’s completely foreign to Marie. Marie’s recently escaped an abusive marriage and is living in a dilapidated mobile home with her loser brother. Her brother- in addition to being a druggie also happens to have quite the knack for computer hacking. The motorcycle game enters Marie’s life when her brother starts working for the gang. Her brother being the loser that he is, starts skimming Reaper money for himself Horse and his brothers step in to “work things out”.
Be warned – this isn’t a fairytale romance! There’s violence, drug use, club whores and murder…just to name a few things. All things considered I really enjoyed this book. Admittedly I’m not too familiar with the inner workings of a motorcycle club but based on the author’s forward it sounds like she’s done a fair bit of research that really enhanced my reading experience.

Definitely love me some Reapers MC!
Book 5 of the Reapers MC series featured man whore-extraordinaire Painter and sweetie-pie Melanie. After reading some negative reviews I wasn’t as excited to dive into their story as previous installments. Nevertheless, as a true book hero I forged on despite my hesitation. What did I find?
A whole lot of angst (love me some angsty romance novels!) and some pretty steamy scenes. While this book had less “shoot em up” violent scenes compared to it’s predecessors it still captivated my interest and held the same gritty biker drama that I was in the mood for.
Solid 4 out of 5 from me!
